Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Sorry this post is late this week. We just got back from Maui very late Monday night and I have been dealing with the “after vacation” stuff like laundry etc. And I’m not sure if it’s jet-lag or after effects of dramamine or what, but I’ve been dealing with the dizzies, which makes it hard to read or get on the computer.  🙂 So, enough of that! Since it’s Wednesday I assume you’ve already seen what we are casing (copy and share everything) over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group, if not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

I love that we have sketches!! It just makes creating in a hurry so much easier since you don’t have to stop and figure out all the layer sizes. I followed the sketch for everything except the sentiment label. Everything on used on my card is from my scrap bin, including the label!

I started with the piece of buffalo plaid from the host pack of DSP, the Pattern Party pack. I then chose my card base in Polished pink and attached the DSP. I then found a scrap of Basic White cardstock big enough to trim to the right size and chose the Jar of Flowers stamp set. It is one that carried over into the new catalog and I haven’t used it in awhile. I stamped the jar in Pool Party ink to give it an old fashioned look. I also stamped it on a scrap and trimmed the top of the jar to use as a mask for the flowers image, which I stamped in Basic Gray ink. Next I colored the jar with the Pool Party Stampin’ Blends markers and flowers using Polished Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends. I also used the Color Lifter on the flower centers to lighten the color. I then added Wink of Stella to all of the flowers and leaves to give it some shimmer. I then added the layer to the card with Stampin’ Seal adhesive. The label was left over from the labels I created using the Many Messages stamp and Messages Die a while back. I didn’t think I was going to like that set, but it comes in handy when you stamp and cut out a bunch and have them on hand! I then added a little bit of Polished Pink ink with a dauber to set it apart from the jar layer and added it with some dimensionals. The black twine bow was actually sitting in my basket of leftovers, so I added it with a Mini Glue Dot and sprinkled on some rhinestones to finish it off.

For the inside, I copied the outside design. I added a piece of the buffalo plaid that measures 2 1/2″ x 5″ and the Basic White layer that measures 3″ x 4 1/2″ and the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink.

And to finish up the scrap of buffalo plaid, I had to decorate the envelope! I just love how it brings the whole project together!

Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot – it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing…there are no rules! Then share your creation with us over at the Facebook Group. If you aren’t a member of the group, no worries; just request to join. We would love to have you come an play along with us. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!
