Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday and the first casing from the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog! How exciting is this? Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet to see what we are casing (copy and share everything) this week? If you haven’t, here’s a look at this week’s sample and sketch:
I love that we have sketches! It really helps when you’re mojo is missing or you just want to get straight to creating without having to reinvent the wheel! And isn’t that just a sweet card? Here’s a look at my take:
As you can see, I followed the sketch for all of my measurements. I started with a Basic White card base and layered on a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of the new Hand-Penned DSP. I absolutely love this new DSP!! I went with the regular Basic White card base since I am adding so many layers to keep the weight down on the card. I tend to get carried away with my layers. 😉 I next cut my four rectangles out of the same sheet of DSP, turned them over and added them to the card front with dimensionals. For my sentiment layer, I trimmed a scrap of the new Pale Papaya and stamped my sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink. I added it with dimensionals and added a bow in the new Evening Evergreen ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot right on the corner. I then took a scrap of vellum and die cut a butterfly from the coordinating die set. I colored the back of it with the Dark Polished Pink Stampin’ Blends Marker (Stampin’ Up!’s alcohol markers) and then generously added Wink of Stella to the front side. I added it to the card front with another Mini Glue Dot and then sprinkled on some rhinestones to finish it off.
For the inside, I had a leftover 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White that I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen. Originally I die cut one of the flower stems in this DSP to add to the front, but didn’t end up using it. Sooooo….I added it to the layer with some Multipurpose Glue and then attached it to the inside of the card. It worked perfectly! No waste!!
And of course I had to decorate the envelope with the sampe paper!
I just LOVE this paper!!! It is so sweet!! And don’t you love how the entire project comes together? Now it’s your turn! Create Your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create your take exactly like the sample or change it up. It’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing – there are no rules! And if you aren’t a member of the group yet, no worries. Just request to join; we would love to have you come and play along with us!
