Welcome to CASE-ing Tuesday #300!!! Can you believe it? Number 300! How cool is that?!? That’s almost 6 years of casing with a whole lot of projects over the years! And to celebrate this monumentous occasion, we are doing something special. We are going to shower one lucky winner with cards from all of our bloggers at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group.  All you have to do to enter the drawing is share a project or comment on any of the entries in this week’s challenge. Easy-peasy! Who wouldn’t love some Happy Mail?!? So have you seen what we are casing (copy and share everything) this week? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

I’m pretty sure the sample is a slimline card, but the sketch was created as a regular A2 card. I thought it would be fun to try my hand at a slimline this week to go with the sample.

Here are the measurements for my card:

  • Card base in Real Red cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 2 7/8″ x 8 1/2″ and 3 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ for the inside
  • Playful Pets DSP cut at 2 3/4″ x 8 1/2″ and 1″ x 8 1/4″ for the inside
  • Smoky Slate cardstock cut at 3/4″ x 2″

It’s been a very long time since I made one of this style card, and I have to say, it was a lot of fun. I thought the Pampered Pets was perfect for this challenge, not to mention, I wanted to use the DSP before it retired. I started with my card base and then trimmed my DSP to fit. I thought the black on the red was a little dark, so I added the extra layer of Basic White and felt that really helped. Next I cut out the Schnauzer with the coordinating die and then fussy cut the other pups. If you know me and my furbaby Chloe, you know the Pomeranian is my favorite! After I glued down the DSP/Basic White layers, I added all of my pups with dimensionals. I then took a scrap of Smoky Slate cardstock and trimmed it the measurement in the sketch. I stamped my sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink and the hearts in Real Red ink and then added it to the card base with dimensionals. I then added some Red Rhinestones to all the pups because even the furbabies need bling!!

Aren’t those pups adorable??? For the inside, I added another piece of DSP at the top of the Basic White layer and stamped my sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink and repeated the hearts in Real Red.

Don’t forget your envelope either! I grabbed a business size envelope, a number 10 envelope, and used the same DSP to decorate the flap. I think it all turned out so stinking cute!!

Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like the sample or change it up a little or a lot. That’s the fun part of casing, it’s all up to you! And if you’re not a member of the group yet, not to worry, just request to join. We would love to have you come and play with us and this is a really good week to do that with the drawing coming up.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I really hope you play along with us this week!
