Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that card adorable? Each time a new catalog comes out, each of the bloggers for the FB Group gets to choose a card to case, and this one is the one I chose! I just loved the looke of the card. For my take on the card, I followed the measurements from the sketch for everything but the sentiment strip. I went with 1/2″ x 2″ to fit my sentiment better.
Last week I had used the Springtime Joy for my Facebook Live, which you can see here if you missed it, and since the set was still sitting on my desk from creating my Easter cards, I thought, why not use it again. For today’s card I used Magenta Madness for the card base and the second layer. The flagged strip is from the Flowers For Every Season DSP pack, which I flagged with the Banner Triple Punch. Both the paper and the punch are retiring, so if you want to add them to your stash, now is the time to shop. After I trimmed my cardstock layers to the measurements and flagged the end of the DSP, I stamped the butterfilies in Magenta Madness ink on the upper right hand corner of the layer and then attached it to the card base with Stampin’ Seal. I added the striped layer to the card with dimensionals and then stamped my little bunny in Smoky Slate ink on the little Basic White square. I colored her with my Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Up!’s alcohol markers. I used the Light Smoky Slate to give her some highlights, then I used the Dark Petal Pink to highlight her nose. Nex I used the Granny Apple Green markers for the leaves and the grass. For the flowers, I used the Light Mango Melody (which is also retiring), Magenta Madness, Flirty Flamingo and Purple Posy for the flowers. Once she was done, I added the square to over the striped layer with more dimensionals. For my sentiment strip, I used a scrap of Blushing Bride cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Magenta Madness. I then added it to to the card front with dimensionals. I created my twine bow with both the white and pink twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack. I thought since my sentiment strip was so short that it looked better to place the bow on the left of it with a Mini Glue Dot. And of course I had to add rhinestones for bling!
The inside layer of Basic White measures 3 3/4″ x 5″ which I stamped my sentiment in Magenta Madness ink. I stamped the flower in Smoky Slate ink and colored it with the Light Mango Melody, Magenta Madness and Granny Apple Green Blends Markers.
And don’t forget the envelope! I stamped the flower and the butterfly in Smoky Slate ink and colored it with the Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Magenta Madness Blends Markers. Although, I think it would look great with some of that striped DSP too!
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create it exactly as the the sample or change it up a little or a lot – it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing; there are no rules! And don’t worry if you aren’t a member of the group yet, just request to join. We would love to have you come and play along with us!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!
