Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time here in my neck of the woods, please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet today to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that an adorable card? I think it’s just sooooo sweet!!! As you can see, for my take, I changed it up a little bit.
I followed the sketch for all of my measurements, including the die cut from the Ornate Layers die set. I started by choosing my card base, which is in Blushing Bride and then chose the polka dot layer from the Subtles DSP pack, also in Blushing Bride. I wrapped a piece of the Linen Thread around the polka dot layer and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Seal. I then die cut my label which I thought would be perfect for a baby girl card. I stamped my sentiment first in Sahara Sand at the bottom and the image at the top. I then colored the image with my Blends Markers, Stampin’ Up!’s alcohol markers. I used the Soft Suede for the hair on both the baby and the grandmother. For the baby’s face and hand, I used the light Petal Pink Blends marker and the Ivory for the grandmother’s hand. I thought it was a little dark, so I touched it up just a tad with the Color Lifter. For the grandmother’s blouse I used the Flirty Flamingo Blends and the for baby’s foot I used the Dark Flirty Flamingo. Once it was done I added it to the card front with dimensionals. I tied a double bow in the Linen Thread and added it with a Mini Glue Dot over the twine on the bottom layer. For my bling, I add two of the clear Elegant Faceted Gems. I thought that was the perfect little subtle bling.
For the inside, I had a scrap of Basic White that measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ that I stamped the image in Sahara Sand ink, stamping off first and coloring the heart with the Light Petal Pink Blends. I stamped the sentiment in first generation of Sahara Sand ink.
I really liked how the inside turned out. For my envelope I just stamped another sentiment from the set on the flap.
I think the Treasures of Life stamp set is just a sweet, sweet set, but then I’m partial since I’m a Nana! 😉 Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly as is or change it up a little or a lot – it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing; there are no rules. And if you aren’t a member of the group yet, not a problem, just request to join. We would love to have you come over and play along with us.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great rest of your day!
