Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this your first time in my neck of the woods, welcome and be sure to join me email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch for this week’s challenge:
Isn’t that a cute card? I had a kit class over the weekend and the stamp set was still out, so I decided to use it again. We played with the Hello Dear Friend Card Kit which is an all inclusive kit that includes an ink spot, acrylic block, stamp set and everything you need to create 12 cards, 3 of 4 designs. Well, let me tell you, the stamp set from the kit has turned out to be one of my favorites! I even played with it last week for my Facebook Live creating alternate note cards and even a 12 x 12 scrapbook page. If you missed it, you can go back and see the projects here.
Back to my take on this week’s card, I followed the measurments in today’s sketch and used some of the Sale-a-bration DSP, the Flower & Field pack with a card base in Pool Party. After I trimmed the DSP to size, I added a piece of the Daffodil Delight ruched ribbon and then glued it to the card base. Next, since the paper had daisies in it, I pulled out my Daisy Punch. I took a scrap of Whisper White and using the new Blending Brushes, I colored on some Daffodil Delight and Pool Party inks to not only break up the white, but to mimick the DSP. I stared with the Pool Party ink in the center and then once I had the color I wanted, I added a large circle of Daffodil Delight. I made two large circles of these colors and then punched out two daisies. I attached them together with a Mini Glue Dot. I then stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the bottom of the Whisper White (retired, we now have Basic White) layer and added the daisy with a dimensional at the top. For my bling, I used some of the sequins from the Artistry Blooms pack. I love how those sequins go with EVERYTHING and give just a sublte touch of bling to whatever you put them on.
For the inside, I had a scrap of Whisper White that measured 3 3/4″ x 5″ so I added a 1/2″ x 5″ strip of the DSP and stamped the sentiment, also in Tuxedo Black ink.
And don’t forget the envelope! And since you can get this DSP for FREE, what better way to use it then by decorating your envelopes! I just added some adhesive to the flap, attached a scrap of the paper to it and trimmed it to fit. Now everything coordinates!
Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s challenge and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create the card just like the sample or change it up a little or a lot. It’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing, you get to create it your way. And don’t worry if you aren’t a member of the group yet, just request to join. We would love to have you come and play along with us.
Thank you so much for stopping by. If there’s anything that I showed you today that you just have to add to your stash, feel free to head over to my online store and shop.
