Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday!! If this is your first time here, welcome and be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group today to see what we are casing? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that card gorgeous? I followed the sample more then the exact measurements in the sketch for my take this week.
Here are the measurements for my take this week:
- Card base in Petal Pink cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
- Petal Pink cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, embossed with Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder
- Fine Art Floral DSP cut at 3 1/4″ x 2″ and 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ for the inside
- Very Vanilla cardstock die cut with 2 3/8″ x 1″ Stitched Rectangle Die and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
When I saw this week’s sketch, I knew I wanted to use the Art Gallery Bundle and the gorgeous paper! Once I chose the sheet of DSP, I cut my card base and layer and then embossed the layer with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. To bring out the little bit of Night of Navy in the paper, I used the Night of Navy Baker’s Twine from the Well Suited Baker’s Twine Combo. I just love Baker’s Twine and was VERY happy to see it come back in Night of Navy!! To attach the twine, I just ran my Stampin’ Seal on the edges and pressed the twine into the adhesive, then attached it to the card front. Next I added the piece of the DSP with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in Night of Navy and added it to the DSP with more dimensionals. I wanted to add a die cut embellishment like the sample, so I inked the small flower from the samp set in Petal Pink. I then took my Rococo Rose Stampin’ Write Marker and colored over a few of the petals on the image with the brush end. I then took my Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker and did the same to the flower centers, “huffed” on the stamp and stamped it on a scrap of Very Vanilla and then repeated the process for a second one and then cut them both out with the coordinating die. I decided to add only one of them to card front because the second one was just too much. For my bling, I added two of the Holiday Rhinestones in the Night of Navy.
I really like how the litte die cut turned out! To me it even looks textured like the paper. For the inside, I added the strip of DSP to the left of the Very Vanilla layer and stamped the sentiment from the Happy Thoughts stamp set in Night of Navy, then attached it to the inside with more Stampin’ Seal.
And don’t forget the envelope! I added some of that gorgeous DSP to the flap with Stampin’ Seal. Then I added the die cut to create a seal. I love how it looks!! So coordinated!! 🙂
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group.
