Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, welcome and please be sure to join my email list for all the scrappy news in my neck of the woods. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

I love that we have sketches! It really helps when you’re creating as you have all the info on the card and can just grab your papers and create. For my card I followed the dimensions in the sketch. I used all scraps, except for the DSP, but everything else, including the card base is from my stash. The card base measures 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″.

The sample picture is actually created using one of the host stamp sets, which you can earn for free with a qualifying order. I don’t have it, and since this stamp set was sitting on my desk from my Christmas card class over the weekend, I thought I would use it. I remembered this piece of DSP from the ‘Tis the Season Designer Series Paper pack, which is on sale through Saturday, so I pulled it out of the pack. I just love plaids and especially the Christmas ones. The colors in the plaid are Shaded Spruce, Just Jade, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White, so to follow the sketch, I went with the Shaded Spruce which I just happened to have a card base in that color left over. I trimmed my DSP to the measurements in the sketch and glued it down to the card base. Next I trimmed down a scrap to the measurements and then a scrap of Whisper White for the top layer. I stamped the tree images in Shaded Spruce ink. This is actually a two-step stamp set, so the inside image that fills the trees is stamped in Just Jade ink. I like the two tones together in the this. Next I took the snow drift image and stamped it multiple times in Smoky Slate ink and then used the same ink to stamp the falling snow. I glued the Whisper White layer to the Cherry Cobbler layer and then added it to the card front with dimensionals. For the sentiment flat, I trimmed a scrap of Smoky Slate to about 2″ in length, so that when I flagged the end, it would measure the 1 3/4″ listed in the sketch. I then took the sentiment from the stamp set and since it was one line, I masked the word “Greetings” and stamped the word “Season’s” in Shaded Spruce ink. I then repeated this process with the word “Greetings”. To flag the end, I used the Tailored Tag Punch which is easier to use with a small layer. I added some Stampin’ Seal to the back and took a scrap of the Just Jade ribbon and attached it in a zig-zag pattern. I added dimensionals and attached it to the card front. It needed a little something-something, so I sprinkled on some rhinestones.

For the inside, I had a leftover piece of Whisper White that measured 3 3/4″ x 5″, so I added a strip of the DSP that measures 1″ x 3 3/4″ to the left side. My sentiment is from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink.

To use up the DSP, I added it to the envelope flap. We don’t want naked envelopes!  😉

I just love it brings the whole thing together when you add your paper to the envelope! Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like the sample, or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing, there are no rules!! If you aren’t a member of the group, no worries; just request to join! We would love to have you come and play along!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Don’t forget that this pack of paper is one of the select packs that is currently on sale, so now is the time to stock up! If you don’t have a demonstrator, I would love to help you out. Just shoot me an email if you have any questions. I hope you have a great day!!
