Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, welcome and please be sure to join my email list for all the scrappy news around here! Have you had a chance to check out what we’re casing (copy and share everything) this week over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? The design team at Stampin’ Up! really do a fantastic job of creating projects to help inspire us to create projects with all of the beautiful product available in the catalog. And then at CASE-ing Tuesday, we get to really use those samples! Isn’t it great that we now have sketches to go along with the samples from the catalog? I followed the sketch exactly for all of my measurements, I just changed up the papers, inks and embossing folder.
When I first this sketch, the Whale Done stamp set was the first thing that popped into my head. The hardest part was picking out which of the gorgeous pieces of DSP to choose from in the Whale of a Time DSP pack! Once I did that, I chose my cardstock color of Pacific Point. I even had a leftover card base in my stash! I found another scrap of Pacific Point and embossed with the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder. The sample shows the embossed layer with the de-bossed side up, but I love all the dimension that the folder gives cardstock, so I glued it down with the embossed side up using my Stampin’ Seal adhesive. Next I trimmed a piece of the DSP to the measurements and added it to the card front with dimensionals. Next I took a scrap of Whisper White and cut my three panels, and then grabbed my ink pads. I used coastal Cabana for the jelly fish, Calypso Coral for the coral (no brainer, right? lol) and Pear Pizzazz for the turtle. I then added them to the card front with more dimensionals. For the sentiment strip, I found a scrap of balmy blue and trimmed it to size. I chose my sentiment and stamped it in Pacific Point ink. Now you can’t use this stamp set and DSP and not use those stinking cute sequins!!! So I grabbed my pack of Whale of a Time sequins and added three of them to the card front with some Multipurpose Liquid glue. You only need a tiny drop for those sequins!
Don’t you just love that little sea shell sequin? It is so adorable!! For the inside I found another scrap of Whisper White cardstock, which measures 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ and stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point and the fish and sea horse in Coastal Cabana. I just thing this whole set is adorable!!!
Now it’s your turn! Create your take with this week’s sample and share it with us over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. This is where the fun part of casing comes in – you get to create it the way you want! You can create the sample just like it is, or change it up a little or a lot. It’s all up to you! And don’t worry if you’re not a member of the group, just request to join. We would love to have you come and play with us!!
