Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, please be sure to join my email list to keep up with all the scrappy news around here. So have you been to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and sketch:

Aren’t those zebras adorable?!? I really wanted to play with that stamp set today, but since the new August-December Mini Catalog went live this morning, I thought it only appropriate to pick a stamp set out that catalog, and what better one to play with then the Gnome for the Holidays!!! I absolutely love this stamp set!!! I followed the measurements in the kit for everything except the sentiment tag. My tag measures 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ since the sentiment is longer.

Are they not adorable?!? I started with a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and trimmed it to the measurements in the sketch. Next I stamped my images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink so I could color them with my Stampin’ Blends markers. I colored the first gnome using the Misty Moonlight blends for his hat and clothes. I used a little of the Ivory for his hands and nose and the Smoky Slate Blends for his beard and the bell. Next I colored his boots with the Basic Black Blends. For the little girl gnome, I used the Light Shaded Spruce for the tree and the holly in her apron and the Light Real Red for the ornaments, her dress and her apron. I used the Light Daffodil Delight for the star. For her face, I first colored her cheeks with the Light Flirty Flamingo to give her that rosy look, and then colored entire face with the Ivory. By coloring her cheeks first, the pink really blends in with the ivory and it’s not so stark. For her hair I used the Bronze. I like using that for hair color more than any of the other browns we have. Then I colored the tips of her shoes with the Light Basic Black marker. Under each of the two gnomes I shaded in some Light Smoky Slate for shadowing on the ground. Next I colored the house. I used the Soft Suede Blends for the tree and Real Red for the door. I wanted it to look like there was a light on in the housed, so I colored the window with the Dark Daffodil Delight, along with the know for a brassy look. I colored each of the Christmas light bulbs with the light Daffodil Delight, Misty Moonlight ad Shaded Spruced makers and the top of the lights with the Dark Daffodil Delight. for the leaves I used the Shaded Spruce markers and the grass I used the Just Jade makers. For the walk way, I used the Gray Granite makers. After I colored it, I trimmed a piece of the new ‘Tis the Season DSP and blued them both down to a Real Red card base. For my sentiment strip, I trimmed a scrap of Bumble Bee cardstock and stamped the sentiment and glued it down. Of course I need a little bling, so I added some rhinestones.

For the inside, I had a scrap of Whisper White that measured 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″, so I stamped the last gnome and the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink. Then I colored him with the the Misty Moonlight, Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Smoky Slate and Ivory markers. for the mistletoe I colored it with the Light Just Jade and the Light Real Red makers.

And don’t forget to stamp your envelope! We don’t want to send out naked envelopes!! lol And you don’t have to stamp an image either, I just stamped another sentiment on the flap. If you have never tried our envelopes, you really need to, the quality is top notch. They have a smooth finish to them and are worth the price!

So, what do you think? It was over 100 when I colored these little guys yesterday and I have to say, it was nice to think about cooler weather coming. Now it’s your turn. Create your take on today’s sample. You can create it exactly as is, or put your spin on it and change it up. That’s the fun part of casing, it’s how YOU want to create it! Once you’ve created your take on the sample, we would love it if you shared it with us over at the CT FB Group! Don’t worry if you aren’t a member yet, just request to join! We have almost 3,000 members and would love for you to come and play along with us!

Thank you so much for stopping by. If any of the items I shared with you today sparks your fancy, I would love it if you came and shopped with me. You can head over to my online store here. Remember, the new catalog just went live and it’s time to use those coupons you collected in July. The August Host Code is DXTZ3T2A and when your order is $50.00 or more, I’ll send you a brand new embellishment from the catalog. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!!
