Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time in my neck of the woods, welcome and be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group to see what we’re casing (copy and share everything)? If you haven’t, here’s a look at the sample card and sketch:
Isn’t that a pretty card? I love the colors! And now that we have sketches, it makes casing even that much easier. I followed the the measurements in the sketch except that I added a layer of the Playing with Patterns DSP, which measures 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.
I started with a Thick Whisper White card base which measures at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I then took a scrap of Purple Posy cardstock and trimmed it to the measurements. I then inked the large magnolia image in Highland Heather ink and set the square aside. I chose a piece of the Playing with Patterns DSP in Purple Posy and to make the card pop, I went with the Silver Metallic Edged Ribbon so I could color it with the Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends (our alcohol markers). I added the colored ribbon to the piece of DSP and then glued it all down with our new Stampin’ Seal adhesive. I added some dimensionals to the square cardstock and added it over the ribbon. I had a scrap of Whisper White cardstock that I trimmed to the 2″ x 1 1/8″ measurements and stamped the sentiment in Highland Heather. I added it to the card front with more dimensionals and then added my bling, Rhinestone Basic Jewels. One can never have enough bling in their lives!! 🙂
For the inside I inked the image again in Highland Heather and then stamped off and stamped it just on the lower left hand corner. I then stamped the sentiment, also in Highland Heather. I liked how it looked with the sentiment stamped somewhat around the image.
What do you think? And using only one color ink made it go really fast! Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like the sample, or change it up a little or a lot, it’s all up to you. That’s the fun part of casing! You can do it your way! And if you’re not a member of the group yet, not a problem, just request to join. We would love to have you come over and play along.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday and get a chance to get inky! Take care!
