Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, welcome and please be sure to join my email list for all the scrappy news around here! Have been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet today to see what we are casing? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? Masculine cards can be tough, so I always like it when we get to case (copy and share everything) them. I love that we have sketches to follow too. It helps make our craft time so much easier! We don’t have to stop and figure out all the sizes!!
I followed the measurements from the sample with the exception of the sentiment tag. My sentiment from the Best Catch stamp set was too large, so I adjusted. My card base was already cut in my stash and it measures 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. I thought it worked perfectly for a landscape card which worked best for my take.
I started by taking a large scrap of Whisper White and I sponged some Daffodil Delight across the upper portion of the layer. Then I swiped just a little bit of Melon Mambo with a sponge to get that sunrise effect. Next I sponged on Night of Navy ink all around it. For the water, I sponged on Pacific Point ink. Next I stamped the mountain image from the Waterfront stamp set in Basic Gray ink. I wanted them to look very shadowy and not the focus of my card. Then I stamped my fisherman in Basic Gray ink and then cut out the rectangle with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I cut out the smaller rectangle in Night of Navy ink and added both layers to the card front, which is in Crumb Cake cardstock. Next I found a strip in my scraps bin and stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink and flagged the sides. I added it to the card front with Mini Dimensionals. Then I remembered I forgot to add my Wink of Stella on the water! So I added it at that point. I wanted the water to have that daybreak sparkle look to it. I really like how it turned out as I think it gave the water some dimension.
For the inside I added a 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the basket in Crumb Cake ink and the sentiment in Night of Navy ink. I don’t like how this turned out, so I’ll probably be redo the inside later. Yes, we are our own worst critics!! lol
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like today’s sample or change it up a little or a lot! It’s all up to you!! That’s the fun part of casing something, there’s no rules!! If you’re not a member of the Facebook Group yet, not a problem! Just request to join. We would love to have you come over and play along with us.
If the Best Catch stamp set is something you would like to add to your collection, it is on the Retiring List of product and will be gone by the end of the month.
