Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, be sure to join my email list to catch up on all the scrappy news around here! Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yes this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? And I love that we now have sketches with all of the measurements. It really helps not only new crafters, but also those that are in a time crunch or a mojo funk. I did follow the sketches measurements for my card.
The embossing folder that was used in the sample card is actually the folder that is from the suite of products I chose for my card, the Timeless Tropical Suite. I just love all the bright and cheery patterns in the DSP! My card base is in Daffodil Delight, and rather then use the embossing folder, I went with this fun paper. I just love the colors!! I cut out the pineapple in Daffodil Delight and Old Olive cardstocks and then added another piece of Old Olive behind the base of the pineapple. I sponged all the pieces with Old Olive ink to give it some dimension and then glued the leaves portion to the base of the pineapple and then added it to the card front with dimensionals. Next I cut out some of the small flowers in Blushing Bride and added them to give it a lei effect with dimensionals. I then cut out the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick cardstock, but when I went to add it to the pineapple, it just didn’t really pop, so I cut it out in Whisper White, glued them together and then added it to the pineapple. Next I colored the rhinestones with the Dark Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends Marker (Stampin’ Up!’s version of alcohol markers) and add them to the flowers and the card base. Just the perfect color of bling!
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink and glued it to the inside of the card. I had an extra flower, so I added it to the corner. The flower actually has the center cut out, so before I glued the flower down, I colored a dot so that the center of the flower resembled the ones on the front.
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like in the sample picture or change it up a little or a lot – it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing! It’s however YOU want to make it!
