Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday project! If this is your first time here, welcome and be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here! Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning? If not, here’s a look at this week’s sample and sketch:
I love that we have sketches to go along with the pictures of the samples. I think it helps you not only create faster when you’re in a hurry, but especially if you’re new to cardmaking. As you can tell, mine is just a little bit different.
Here are my measurements:
- Card base in Smoky Slate cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Flowering Foils Specialty DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 2 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
- Copper Foil strip cut at 1/2″ x 1 3/4″
The Flowering Foils Specialty DSP is one of the new 2nd Release Sale-a-bration items that you can get for free with a $50.00 and it is absolutely gorgeous! I chose that to go on a Smoky Slate card base as I think that is as close to silver as you’re going to get. Next I cut a scrap of Whisper White to measure and I stamped the leaves image in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed some Silver Embossing Powder on it. I punched out a couple of Copper Foil flowers with the Small Bloom Punch. Both the stamp set and the punch are more Sale-a-bration items that you can get. Next I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock that I cut out with the smallest die from the Stitched So Sweetly Die Set. If you haven’t gotten these yet, you need to add them to your list! They cut so well and the cardstock just drops out of the die. They are wonderful! I was just going to add that to the card front, but thought it needed something, so I added the little strip of Copper Foil. I glued them together with Mini Glue Dots and then added them to the Whisper White layer. Next I added the flowers, also with dimensionals and then added a piece of the Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon to the back. I added the whole thing to the card front with dimensionals. For my bling, I added two of the largest rhinestones to the center of the flowers. For the two on the sentiment piece, I colored them with a dark brown Sharpie to look like copper rhinestones.
For the inside, I stamped one of the flowers from the stamp set in Versa Mark and heat embossed with some more Silver Embossing Powder and then added another rhinestone that I colored with the Sharpie. Then I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and glued the layer to the inside of the card.
I really like how the whole thing came together. What do you think? Now it’s your turn! Create your take on today’s sample. You can create just like it shows in the picture, or change it up. Doesn’t matter if you change it a little or a lot, it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing (copy and share everything)! Once you’ve created your card, just share it with us over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. If you’re not a member yet, not a problem! Just request to join! We would love to have you join and play along with us each week.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a terrific Tuesday! Be sure to come back tomorrow for my Facebook Live project. Take care!
