Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time, welcome and be sure to join my email list for all the scrappy news in my neck of the woods. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we’re casing? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? I love all the colors to it and the black scalloped edge and sentiment tag really makes it all pop. I followed the sketch for most of the measurements, but I didn’t use a sentiment layer. Did you know that yesterday was National umbrella day? Lol, I heard that and thought, hey, I should use the Under My Umbrella set! 🙂
My card base is in Balmy Blue which is the color of the piece of DSP from the new coordinating Pleased as Punch pack that was released last week. I chose the Decorative Ribbon Punch to create my lace layer just peeking under the DSP layer. I then wrapped my Whisper White Baker’s Twine around it and tied a bow to it. I chose to stamp the sentiment on the DSP in Blueberry Bushel ink instead of another layer so that the galoshes and umbrella were the main focus. I love the brightness of that blue! After I stamped the sentiment, I glued it all down to the card base. I knew I wanted to use the galoshes image, so I stamped them in Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with the Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo and them cut them out by hand with my snips. It is such a bright and cheery yellow! Then to give the galoshes that shiny look, I used some of the Shimmery Crystal Effects that was available in the Holiday Catalog. It’s funny, I’ve had it since last fall and have used it more now then during the catalog period. Luckily it’s a carry over item! Next I stamped the umbrella in Blueberry Bushel ink on Blueberry Bushel cardstock and punched it out. Then I used a white gel pen to create the polka dots on it. I stamped the handle in Blueberry Bushel ink on a scrap of Whisper White and punched it out. I glued them together with a Mini Glue Dot and then added them to the card base with a dimensional. Next I attached the galoshes with a dimensional once it was dry. For my bling, I added some of the blue rhinestones from the Noble Peacock Rhinestone pack.
You can really see the sparkle on the galoshes in this picture. I think they turned out so cute! For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink and the flowers in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored them with the Blends Markers.
Now it’s your turn. Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. The best part of casing (copy and share everything) is you can create it as is, change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you! And, if you’re not a member of the Facebook Group yet, not a problem! Just request to join, we would love to have you come and play along! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day!
