Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, welcome and be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news in my neck of the woods. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group this morning? If not, this is what we’re casing (copy and share everything) this week:
I love that we now have sketches to go along with the pictures from the catalog. It makes creating so much easier! I followed all the measurements for my take on this week’s sample, except that I turned it to a portrait style card.
I first chose the Happy Birthday to You stamp set. Did you know that the February Paper Pumpkin kit is going to coordinate with this stamp set? That’s right and you still have time to subscribe!! And, did you know that today was the release of the new Coordination Product by Stampin’ Up! I am using two of those items today, the Birthday Dies that coordinate with the stamp set I’m using and this cute DSP called the Pleased as Punch that coordinates with the Heartfelt Punch Pack, the Tulip Builder Punch, the Umbrella Builder Punch and the Small Bloom Punch. The piece I’m using today actually is the backside of the piece that coordinates with the Small Bloom Punch. I just love the bright and happy colors of this piece. Isn’t it perfect for a birthday?
After I cut this piece to the size in the sketch, I cut the oval out with the largest oval die from the Layering Ovals set. Next I stamped the birthday cake on a piece of 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and attached it to the back of the DSP. I then stamped it again on a scrap of Whisper White and then colored the flowers using my Flirty Flamingo combo, Granny Apple Green Combo, Dark Daffodil Delight and Dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Markers. These markers are Stampin’ Up!’s alcohol marker line. I love how easy it is to color with them and having just a light and a dark marker named after our signature colors just makes it easy to coordinate everything. Once the flowers were done, I cut them out using the new coordinating die. I then added them to the of the cake with dimensionals and then glued the entire layer on the card front. Next cut a scrap of Blushing Bride and another of Granny Apple Green cardstocks to the measurements in the sketch. I stamped the “To You” sentiment in Versa Mark ink on the Blushing Bride piece and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. Once it was set I glued this to the Granny Apple Green layer and added them to the card front with dimensionals. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and the rhinestones and called it done.
For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink on a 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. I actually had another cake image stamped from a previous project, so I colored the top flower like the ones on the front and cut it out with the die. Then I trimmed around it and added it to the corner, and glued it all to the inside of the card base.
I think this is such a bright and cheery card that will surely brighten someone’s day! Now it’s your turn. Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create an exact copy or change it up, it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing, it’s your design to do with as you please. If you haven’t seen the list of new Coordination Products that were released this morning, just head over to my online store to check them out. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic Tuesday!
