Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, welcome and be sure to join my email list. Have you seen today’s sample over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
I love that we have sketches now! It really helps when you are trying to craft and are having creative block issues! I followed the measurements in the sketch exactly with no variations. Sometimes it’s nice to not have to think about what you’re doing, just cut and go!
I started with a Daffodil Delight card base and embossed the front with the Subtle 3-D Embossing Folder. I think that is my most used folder, it gives just enough texture without being overbearing. I cut the strips of the Tropical Oasis DSP to the above measurements and glued them to the card base. Next, I took a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the hibiscus flower in Tuxedo Black ink and colored it using my Stampin’ Blends Markers. I started with my Light Petal Pink and colored the petals. Next I grabbed my Light Mango Melody and colored the center of the flower and then added some of the Dark Mango Melody. Next I colored the petals with some Dark Petal Pink. Then I took some of the Light Calypso Coral and colored over the petals and then added some of the Dark Calypso Coral on the outlines of the petal. Then I brought in some Light Real Red at the center. I just kept layering until I got the color I wanted. Next I stamped the leaf in Tuxedo Black and colored it withe the Old Olive Blends combo. I cut them both out with the coordinating dies and added some Wink of Stella to both. Next I glued the leaf to the back of the flower with a Mini Glue Dot and then added dimensionals to attach them both to the square. I cut a scrap piece of Whisper White to the size of the square in the sketch and added it to the card front with dimensionals, and then added the flower/leaf. I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink on a scrap of Whisper White and cut it out with the oval die. I also cut a scrap of Real Red with the coordinating scalloped oval die. I glued them together and added them to the card front with a dimensional on the right side and a Mini Glue Dot on the left to anchor it to the square. Then I added two of the Old Olive rhinestones from the Noble Peacock Rhinestone pack.
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Old Olive ink on a 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Whisper White. I had a piece of the 1 1/8″ strip of DSP leftover, so I trimmed it to 3 1/4″ and glued it to the side of the Whisper White and then glued it all to the inside of the card.
I love the bright colors of this card! You can almost smell the ocean breeze! lol Now it’s your turn! Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it as is or change it up a little or a lot, it’s all up to you! That’s the best part of casing, copy and share everything, it’s all up to you! Don’t worry if you aren’t a member yet, we would love to have you join and play along.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have a great Tuesday!!
