Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time visiting my little neck of the woods, be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news. Can you believe it’s only a week until Christmas?!? Yikes! That sure got here in a hurry! I hope that since you are reading this, that you are taking some time to catch your breath as you get ready for the big day. Have you seen what we’re casing today over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? If not, here’s this week’s sample and sketch with all the measurements:
I love the simplicity of it! As you can see, I changed the layout from a landscape card to a portrait card, but I kept all the measurements the same. I originally had planned to create a spring type card, but found the scrap of DSP from the Night Before Christmas pack and that changed everything. In fact, everything on this card is scraps leftover from previous projects…including the card base!! Gotta love it when you use those up!
So I started by trimming the scrap of DSP and Real Red Glimmer paper to fit the measurements in the sketch and then glued them together with Mini Glue Dots. The dots really are the best way to adhere anything to our glimmer paper. Next I pulled out my Crumb Cake ink and stamped the holly berries image from the Christmas is Gleaming stamp set on the card base at a diagonal, stamping off first so the image was more subtle. Next I glued down the DSP/Glimmer paper to the card base on the left side. I cut my scrap of Very Vanilla with the largest stitched square, which is the exact measurement in the sketch, and then stamped the holly berries on it. I did stamp off twice for this because I wanted it to be very light. Next I inked up my sentiment, also from the same stamp set, in Night of Navy and stamped it right over the berries. I love to stamp sentiments over images! It just looks cool! Next I found a piece of Linen Thread in my stash and wrapped it around the card front and tied it in a bow towards the top. I added my stitched square with dimensionals and some of the Holiday Rhinestones for bling and voila! Done!
For the inside, I had a scrap of Very Vanilla cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, so I stamped the berries again, stamping off, and then the sentiment. I really like how the whole thing came together! What do you think?
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. Don’t worry if you’re not a member yet, just request to join – we would love to have come and play along with us! You can create it as is or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you!! That’s the best part of casing (copy and share everything) you get to do what you want!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a terrific Tuesday!
