Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I’m so glad you stopped by, and if this is your first time, please be sure to join my email list for all the scrappy news in my neck of the woods. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet today? If you haven’t, here’s a look at what we’re casing:
I love that we have sketches!! It really helps when you’ve lost your mojo or even new to the craft. It also helps when you’re in a hurry and just want to put something together, however you look at it, it makes life easier!! I followed the measurements exactly except for the sentiment label. Mine is a little smaller to accommodate the stamp. I was also able to create this from all scraps, which is always a good thing!
I started with my layer of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and glued it to the Pretty Peacock card base at an angle like the sample card. Then I cut the little slip of DSP, which is actually the back side of the DSP I used, to the measurements in the sketch and added it to the card front. I took a scrap of Pretty Peacock, wiped it with the Embossing Buddy, then stamped the ornament image from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set in Versa Mark and heat embossed it in Copper Embossing powder to match the copper foiling in the DSP. I punched out the ornament using the coordinating punch and then attached with with dimensionals to the stitched circle of Very Vanilla that was in my stash. Then I added it all to the card front with more dimensionals, and yes, I tend to use a lot of dimensionals!! 🙂 I then stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink on a piece of Very Vanilla that measured the 3/4 x 2 5/8, but it looked odd. So I trimmed it with my Paper Snips which made look much better. Next I added a piece of the Old Olive and Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon to the ornament and some of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones in Old Olive and called it done.
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. The fun part of casing (copy and share everything) is it’s all up to you! You can change it up a littler or a lot, whatever you want to do!! If you aren’t a member of the group yet, just request to join, we would love to have you come over and play along!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Tuesday!
