Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, welcome and be sure to join my email list so you can catch up on all the scrappy news around here! Have you had a chance to see the sample we are casing (copy and share everything) over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? If not, here’s a look at it and the sketch with all the measurements to help you create your take:
Isn’t that a cute card? When I saw this I knew it was perfect for the Daisy Lane Bundle! And what better way to showcase that bundle then with yellow gingham and navy blue? My favorite color combination, but then if you know me, you already knew that. 🙂
So I followed the measurements for the sketch and used a piece of the Daffodil Delight DSP from the Brights Collection and a Night of Navy card base that I pulled from my scraps. To create the diagonal cut on my piece of DSP I cut it to a 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ square. I made a little tic mark on one side at the 2″ mark. Then I placed the top corner from the opposite side on the cutting groove of my trimmer and lined up my tic mark on the groove and trimmed. I glued that to the car base and drew the faux stitching with a white gel pen. Then I cut out the largest stitched circle, which is the 2 7/16″ circle. I stamped the leaf in Granny Apple Green ink and the sentiment in Night of Navy ink and then added it to the card base with dimensionals. Next I stamped 4 of the medium size daisies in Night of Navy ink and 4 in Daffodil Delight ink and punched them all out. I glued them all together with Mini Glue Dots and then added them to the card base with dimensionals, saving one set of the yellow daisies for the inside of the card. I started to sprinkle on some of the rhinestones and my 5-year old grandson, who was here, wanted to help, so he added some too. Not too bad for a 5-year old!
