Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If this is your first time here, welcome! Be sure to join my email list so you can get your interactive card tutorial and get all the updates in my little world. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group to see what we’re casing? If not, here’s a look at the sample we are casing and the sketch for it:
If you are not sure what casing means, it is “copy and share everything”. Now the fun part, is you get to put your spin on the card. I love that we have the sketch with all the measurements now, it really makes it even easier to case! I followed the sketch for the most part, but my sentiment strip is 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ and created it in the portrait mode to accommodate the image I chose. I went with that cute piggy from the This Little Piggy stamp set. I still love those pigs! It’s been a long time since I’ve used the set, so I thought it was time to dust it off.
I used Old Olive cardstock for my card, a piece of the Perennial Essence DSP for the background, a piece of the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon and then glued it down to the card base. Then I cut my Whisper White to fit from a scrap in my bin and stamped the image only in Tuxedo Black ink. I had to mask the sentiment so that I could stamp that on the strip like the sample card. Then I colored the pig with the Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Combo. I used the Old Olive Combo for the grass and flower stem and the Dark Daffodil Delight Blends Marker for the flower petals. I colored around the pig with the Light Pool Party Blends Marker and added it to the card front with dimensionals. I think I need to practice on that part of my coloring, but that’s okay, this is handmade! 🙂 I added some of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones in Old Olive to the card to give it some bling. Next I masked the pig image and stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black on a scrap of Pool Party cardstock, snipped the ends so that it would fit better on the card and added it with dimensionals. You can tell the layout is from the sketch, but with some minor changes; the fun part of casing!!
Doesn’t that piggy just make you smile?!? He’s just so darn cute! Now it’s your turn. Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly as shown or change it up. The fun part is you can change it a little or a lot, it’s all up to you! If you aren’t a member of the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet, that’s okay, just request to join. We would love to have come over and play along!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic Tuesday!!
