Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! Can you believe that we’re at #201? Wow! That’s a lot of casing!! I hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend. Mine was spent first with a card class and then painting the doors for my new studio; future posts on the new studio ahead! Back to today’s CASE-ing Tuesday project. 🙂 Have you seen the sample and sketch over at the Facebook Group? If not, here they are:
Isn’t it cute? I definitely was not in the mood to create a Christmas card yet, so I decided to showcase the Petal Promenade DSP that is retiring. I chose the Beautiful Promenade stamp set that goes with the suite of products. I love this DSP and will miss those beautiful flowers! All the measurements for my card are the same as what is listed on the above sketch.
I went with a Fresh Fig card base, another retiring color, and cut the DSP to cover the front. The little 1/2″ x 2″ strip is the back side of the DSP that I used. I used Mossy Meadow for the sentiment strip. Since I was going to be embossing with white embossing powder on the dark cardstock, I swiped my Embossing Buddy over the strip. I tend to forget about this little tool when embossing, but it is really important to use when embossing on dark colored cardstock. It eliminates the static cling so that when you sprinkle on your embossing powder, you don’t get those little speckles of powder everywhere. Next I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it. I then took my Whisper White layer and stamped the flower in Fresh Fig ink and the stripes in Powder Pink ink. I am going to miss both of these colors! I stamped the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink, stamping once then stamped again right next to the leaf for a second generation ink image. I like that it gives the stamped image some more depth. I glued this down to the card base and added my other two strips, both adhered with Snail adhesive. I grabbed my Wink of Stella (aka Wanda as it is known in our group) and added it to the flower. Then I added some pearls and called it done.
For the inside of the card I cut another piece of Whisper White cardstock the same size as the front piece. I stamped another set of leaves in Mossy Meadow and the sentiment in Fresh Fig, then glued it down with Snail. I love this sentiment and have used it in many cards I have sent out.
Now it’s your turn. Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. Don’t worry if you’re not a member yet, just request to join, we’d love to have you play along! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Tuesday!!
