Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday!! If this is your first time here, welcome! Not sure what CASE-ing Tuesday is? It’s a Facebook Group that was created to case (copy and share everything) a different sample each week from any of the Stampin’ Up! catalogs and everyone is free to play along. This week we are casing a sample that used the Pretty Kitty stamp set. If you haven’t seen it, take a look at the sample and the sketch:
How fun is today’s sample that we are casing? Since the Pretty Kitty stamp set used in this sample is retiring, I knew I had to use it one last time. Then as I was looking at the sample, I thought it was just too darn cute not to copy! For the most part, I copied the card, with a few changes. My measurements are exactly what is listed in the sketch. I love that we include sketches now because I think it really helps in the whole creating process whether you’re new to the hobby or a seasoned cardmaker.
I used Thick Whisper White cardstock for my card base and regular Whisper White for the layer that was embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I can’t believe that folder is also retiring! What will we do with no polka dots?!? lol I attached that right to the card front. I then grabbed a piece of scrap Whisper White to stamp my image in Tuxedo Black ink. I colored everything with my Watercolor Pencils then blended it all with one of my Blender Pens. The Blender Pens really make it easy to smooth out all the pencil lines when you color. I then added some Wink of Stella on all of the flowers. You can blend with the Wink of Stella too, but I just wanted a little bit. Once that was done, I cut it out and layered it on a scalloped circle of the Sparkle Glimmer Paper with Mini Glue Dots. I added some adhesive to the back and layered on some of my very favorite Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon. I am sooooo sad that ribbon is retiring!!!! I then added some dimensionals and added it to the card front. For my embellishments, I used my Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends and colored some rhinestones and added them to the card. Isn’t that just the sweetest card?
For the sentiment, I stamped it on a piece of scrap Whisper White and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and added it with dimensionals. Next I stamped another kitty on a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White and colored him with the pencils and blender pen too. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy and added to the inside of card.
I am going to miss this stamp set, it is just so sweet!! Now it’s your turn. Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us on the Facebook Group. You can change it up a little or a lot, it’s all up to you! That’s the beauty of casing, there is no right or wrong way!! If you aren’t a member of the group yet, that’s okay, just request to join. We would love to have you come over and play along!! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Tuesday!
