Hello! Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! If you were here earlier today and saw a different card, you aren’t losing your mind…I posted next week’s case by mistake! Oops! But the good news is, I’m ahead of the game for next week!! lol So have you seen what we are casing today over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? If not, here’s today’s case (copy and share everything):
I did change my card up a little, so here are my measurements:
- Card base in Petal Pink cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Garden Impressions DSP cut at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
- Vellum cardstock cut at 3 5/8″ x 4 1/2″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
When I chose to use the DSP versus the embossing folder, I wanted the color of the cardstock to show too, so I trimmed the DSP down by 1/8″ on all sides. I adhered that down and then the piece of vellum down using Snail adhesive. I know vellum can be tricky to glue down, but since I was going to have a piece of Whisper White over the vellum, you wouldn’t see the adhesive anyway. I am using one of the retiring hostess stamp sets, the Just Because set. I love this set! Three of the images have the sentiment as part of the stamp, but I cut them apart (*gasp*) to be able to position the sentiment any where. I don’t usually do this, so it was a big step for this OCD stamper!! lol So I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black ink on my Whisper White layer towards the bottom, and then colored it with the Stampin’ Blends Markers. Can I just say I really love these markers?!? Since the DSP had a splotchy watercolor look to it, I knew I didn’t have to color perfectly. I used the Light Daffodil Delight for the vase, the Light Shaded Spruce for the leaves, the Dark Petal Pink for the flowers and the Light Mint Macaron for the background. Then I stamped the sentiment at the top to mimic the one in the case and then glued it down to the vellum. I added a tiny bow of Whisper White Baker’s Twine with a Mini Glue Dot to match the sample.
