Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! Have you seen today’s sample and sketch on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Page? I love that we now show sketches for the samples because it makes it so much easier to case (copy and share everything). Here’s what we’re casing this week:
I followed the basic design of the sketch with a few changes. Here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Early Espresso cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Painted Seasons DSP cut at 4″ x 5″
- Gold Glimmer Paper cut at 3 1/2″ x 1 1/8″
- Starburst punch of Early Espresso which is about 2 1/4″ in diameter
- Whisper White cardstock punched with at 2″ circle punch
I wanted to use the Painted Seasons bundle since it is only available for a couple of more weeks. I chose the fall pattern because it has such happy colors. I adhered the DSP to the card base and then added that piece of Gold Glimmer Paper. I colored the leaf by first using a sponge dauber with some Crushed Curry ink, then daubed on some Poppy Parade, and then colored the stem with my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker. I stamped the image and then cut it out with the coordinating framelit. I think the Four Seasons Framelits are still available, but like everything else right now, it’s on a while supplies last status. I chose the sentiment I used from the More Than Words stamp set that is also on a limited time basis. The phrase actually reads “Thanks for”, but I only wanted the thanks portion, so I masked it with a piece of tape and then stamped the word in Soft Suede ink. I punched it out with the word towards the bottom so I had enough room to add the leaf. I adhered it to the the starburst and added it to the card front with dimensionals. I added the leaf with a dimensional and then painted on some Wink of Stella to give it some shimmer and voila! Done! Quick and easy! Following sketches makes designing so much faster! Here’s a closer look at the leaf:
Now it’s your turn. Create your take on today’s case and share it with us over on the Facebook Group. Don’t worry if you’re not a member yet, just ask to join. We would love it if you played along. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Tuesday!
