Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet to see today’s case? If not, here is what we’re casing this week:
Isn’t that adorable? I don’t have that stamp set, so I changed mine up quite a bit. Here are the measurements of my card:
- Card base in Color Me Clover cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing Floder
- 2018-2020 In Color DSP cut at 2 1/4″ x 4″
- Whisper White cut at 3/4″ x 3″ for the sentiment
I chose the Hostess set Springtime Stroll. Such a cute stamp set!! I did want to stay somewhat within the parameters of the original design of the card, but I couldn’t come up with a way to cut a frame for the strawberries. So I chose to stamp and color the strawberries with my blender pens, then cut it out with one of the ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits set. I colored the strawberries with Lovely Lipstick and Color Me Clover for the leaves and Grapefruit Grove for the pot. I colored the seeds in with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. Once that was cut out, I cut out a scalloped oval in Color Me Clover and adhered them together. I ran the Whisper White cardstock through my Big Shot with the embossing folder and adhered it to the card base. Then I added the DSP. I chose the Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon which I thought would make the stamped images really pop. I adhered the ribbon down, then added one of the True Gentlemen Buttons with a bow of Whisper White Baker’s Twine. It was actually a piece left over from one of my classes. Those leftovers sure come in handy! I next added dimensionals to the oval and added it to the card front. Then I stamped the sentiment and flagged the ends. I didn’t like the way it just blended in with the embossed layer (white on white), so I pressed the edges of the sentiment into the Grapefruit Grove ink to break up the white. Then I added dimensionals to the back and added it to the card front. I still thought it was missing something. I decided to stamp the butterfly and the bird images and colored with the blender pen in Grapefruit Grove for the butterfly and Lovely Lipstick for the bird and Call Me Clover for the rain boots. Then I fussy cut them out and added them to the card with the mini dimensionals. Next I added some Wink of Stella to the butterfly and to the rain boots, rhinestones to the strawberries oval and the butterfly. That was when I had one of those “oooohhhh, I REALLY love this card!!!” moments. Don’t you just love it when something finally comes together and you fell like you hit a home run?
