Hey everyone! Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday. I know this is really late in posting, but as usual, life got in the way. Did you get a chance to see today’s case over on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? If not, here’s a look at it:
Pretty cute card, huh? If you look at this picture in the catalog, there’s a paragraph right next to it telling you how to soften the look of your cardstock by brushing on the Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Pad across it. That’s exactly what I did with mine. Here are the measurements of my card:
- Card base in Pineapple Punch cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic Black layer cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
- Whisper White layer cut at 5″ x 3″
- Blueberry Bushel strip punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch
When you use the craft ink, make sure you either hit it with the heat gun to help it dry fast or just set it aside for awhile because it does take time to dry. I used one of the new hostess stamp sets, Hand Delivered to create the girl with the balloons. This is a really fun set to play with because you have so many options with it. I started by stamping her bottom half, then stamped the balloons which includes her arms and hands. Then I grabbed one of my Blender Pens and started coloring. I used the Petal Pink for her skin tones. Don’t be startled when you first color with it as it will lighten as it dries. Then I colored her skirt with Blueberry Bushel. I wasn’t happy with the results, so I stamped the second step of the skirt that has the stripes and belt. It worked perfectly! Stamping with photopolymer stamps sets makes two-step stamping so much easier!! Then I colored her shirt in Pineapple Punch ink and the cuffs in Blueberry Bushel. Next were the balloons. I used Lovely Lipstick, Color Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove and Pineapple Punch inks. (this ties in my Product of the Week which is the In Colors) Once I was done coloring, I trimmed it down and added the black layer. I didn’t want much black showing, just enough to break up the white from the white craft ink on the card base. Then I grabbed my punch and a scrap strip of Blueberry Bushel, punched it out and added it to the back of the layers with some Snail adhesive, then adhered it all down to the card base. Then I stamped the sentiment in the corner, sprinkled on some rhinestones and called it done. I love the font in this stamp set, it just goes perfectly on with the feel of the images.
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on today’s case and share it with us over on the Facebook Group. If you aren’t a member yet, that’s okay, just request to join. We would love to have you play along! Have a great Tuesday!!
