Hey everyone! Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! Today’s case marks a big anniversary around the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. It’s our 150th case! Isn’t that fantastic?!? And there’s nothing like celebrating by giving away something fun from the new catalog! Check this out:
What do you think about that? Isn’t that cool? I just ordered my Darling Label Punch Box yesterday so stay tuned for some cute creations that will be posted with that cute set in the near future! You can check out how to enter the drawing for a chance to win your very own set by heading over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group.
And speaking of the FB Group, did you see what we’re casing today? Here’s a look at the cute card:
I just love the Nature’s Poem Suite! Trees can be used for so many different types of projects, from spring to masculine cards to holiday cards. They are just the most universal image there is, at least in my opinion. So here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Tranquil Tide cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Nature’s Poem DSP cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
- Water Color Paper cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
I think the tree in the sample is just so striking, which is why I kept with the original design. I wanted a cooler effect on the card, which is why I went with Tranquil Tide. I stamped the same tree image on the front of the card in Tranquil Tide ink like the sample shows. The DSP in the sample is actually the reverse side of the one I used on my card. I adhered it at an angle to the card base then did my water coloring. I washed on some Tranquil Tide ink on the top 2/3 of the cardstock, then some Soft Suede on the bottom. Water coloring can be tricky and you most definitely have to be patient with it. After it dried, I stamped the tree image in Soft Suede and the sentiment in Tranquil Tide. I find that using the Stampin’ Pierce Mat helps get a better image on water color paper when stamping sentiments no matter which style of stamp you’re using. Using the Stamparatus would work really well for that too, but I was in a hurry and just went for it without it. The sentiment was a little blotchy in some places, so I just touched it up a little with the Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Marker. Then I adhered that layer to the card front and added a piece of the Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon like in the picture. I used a couple of Mini Glue Dots between the ends of the ribbon to get them to lay correctly. I added one of the True Gentlemen Buttons with a Mini Glue Dot, then added a bow tied in a piece of the Nature’s Poem Twine. It’s a little thick for bows, but I like how it turned out. And I have to say, I am super excited that the buttons carried forward. I have missed buttons!! lol
Now it’s your turn. Create your take on today’s sample and share it over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. Be sure to check the post with all the information on the give away too. I think the fact that we are on the 150th case says a lot! Thank you for stopping by and for helping us get to 150 cases! Have a great Tuesday!
