Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! Don’t you just love all the inspiration you get on Tuesdays? Have been over to the Facebook Group yet this morning? If not, here’s a look at today’s sample:

It’s definitely different then my style, but I went with it. I did use the same stamp set, Flourishing Phrases and the coordinating Framelits, and color combo, but my watercolor technique was a little different. Here are the measurements for my card:

  • Card base in Melon Mambo cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Shimmery White cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″

I love using the Shimmery White paper when I’m watercoloring, not just because of the shimmer it gives off, but because it’s a thicker cardstock and takes the water well. First I took the sentiment and inked it in Versa Mark ink, then I heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. I didn’t use the Embossing Buddy because I was hoping for some sprinkles of the gold to show up. Then I took the flowery stamp and inked it in Versa Mark and then heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder like the sample. Then using my Aqua Painter, I washed on some Melon Mambo ink. While that was drying, I cut out the decorative strip and a couple of flowers like the sample in Gold Glimmer Paper. When the watercolor was dry, I adhered it to the card base, then I glued on the glimmer pieces with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I added some of the Metallic Enamel Shapes in gold and called it done. I love Melon Mambo, white and gold together!

Ok, now it’s your turn! Create your take on today’s sample and share it with us over on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. You can change it up a littler or a lot, or not at all, create it exactly like the sample. That’s the fun part about casing; it’s all up to you and your imagination.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Tuesday!
