Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! Have you seen today’s sample over on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? It is such a cute card! Here’s a look at the sample that is using the Sharing Sweet Thoughts stamp set:
Isn’t it cute? Those little lady bugs are just so adorable. I don’t know why I haven’t gotten that stamp set yet…especially since it coordinates with the Everyday Jars Framelits! It’s not often that we have multiple stamp sets match one set of framelits. So for my sample, since I didn’t have this set, I went with the Jar of Love stamp set. Here are the measurements of my card:
- Card base in Dapper Denim cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Powder Pink layer cut at 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″
- Crumb Cake layer cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″, embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing Folder
After I embossed the Crumb Cake layer, I adhered it to the Powder Pink layer at an angle, then added it to the card base somewhat like the sample card. I used Very Vanilla for the jar and stamped it with Crumb Cake ink, then cut it out. I knew I wanted to fill my jar with flowers, so stamped the water with Soft Sky ink, by stamping off first because I didn’t want a really dark water line. I took out some scraps of Wild Wasabi and stamped the leaves and stems in Wild Wasabi ink and cut them out. For the flowers I used Powder Pink ink and Flirty Flamingo on Very Vanilla cardstock. Once they were all cut out, I put them together with Mini Glue Dots and then started to add them to the jar. I didn’t like how stark the contrast was, so I grabbed a scrap piece of Vellum cardstock, stamped the jar again in Crumb Cake ink. Now when you stamp on vellum, it will smear if you don’t let it dry. Since I was in a hurry, I sprinkled on some Clear Embossing Powder and hit it with the heat gun. One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up!’s vellum is that it’s thicker then other brands and takes the heat very well. I cut it out with the framelits and added it on top of the flowers with Mini Glue Dots. It really softens the look of the stems, but since I stamped off the Soft Sky before adding it to the jar, it’s a little light. But that’s ok, the focus is on the flowers any way.
After I had the two pieces of the jar adhered together, I added the Linen Thread by wrapping it around and tied it in a knot. I then added a double bow of the thread. I grabbed my Very Vanilla Lace Trim and added it to the card front with Mini Glue Dots, then added the dimensionals and mini dimensionals to the back of the jar and adhered it over the lace. Then I took a scrap piece of Powder Pink, stamped the sentiment from the stamp set, flagged the ends and added to the jar with dimensionals. I wanted to add some bling, so I took some pearls and added them to the center of each flower. I really love how it turned out. I love Mason jars any way, as you can tell if you come to my house. I have them everywhere and even use them as our drinking glasses.
Now it’s your turn. Create your version of the sample card and share it over on the Facebook Group. If you’re not a member yet, no problem, just request to join and play along. We would love it if you did. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Tuesday!
