Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I love Tuesdays just because of this Facebook Group. Not sure what it is? It’s a group that showcases a new card from the current Stampin’ Up! catalogs that are to be cased and everyone gets to play along. Casing is actually one of the easiest ways to learn how to create something. You copy and share everything about the project, but you put your personal spin on it. You can copy exactly as shown, or change it up with something else, different stamp set, paper or whatever you want. And if you’re having a mojo-funk moment, this will definitely help get those creative juices flowing! Not to mention all the fun inspiration you get to see on this group! So here’s today’s card to case:
For my take on today’s card, I used the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes from the Sale-a-bration Catalog. I love those card bases because it makes card making that much quicker! They come in a pack of 16 cards and coordinating envelopes, 4 of 4 designs. And the 4 colors are just perfect! I didn’t have the stamp set that was used in the sample, so I pulled out my This Little Piggy stamp set. Everyone was using it when it first came out and as it happens, it gets pushed to the back of the shelf after the newness wears off. I knew it was time to bring her back out. Isn’t the little piggy with the wings perfect?
Since I was planning on coloring with the Stampin’ Blends Markers, I stamped her with Memento Ink. I colored the wings in Pool Party and the little piggy was colored using the Ivory, Pink Pirouette Combo Markers, and the Light Smoky Slate for the hooves. The Blends make coloring so easy! To give the wings a bit of shimmer, I added some Wink of Stella. After I was done coloring it, I cut it out with the oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I cut a scalloped oval of Pool Party to coordinate with the card base and adhered it to the stitched oval. Then I took a piece of the Organza Ribbon and wrapped it around the card base and tied it in a knot. I know this ribbon has been very popular since it’s release, but it should be back in stock soon. I added some dimensionals to the piggy and added her to the card front. Sprinkled on some rhinestones and voila! So much fun!!
Now it’s your turn! Head over the Facebook Group and check out the other samples. Then create your take on today’s card and share it with us. We would love to have you play along! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
