Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday!! I am so glad you’re here to see my take on today’s case. I love today’s card that can be found in our Sale-a-bration Catalog on page 4. It’s actually the very first item I chose from that catalog. Not familiar with Sale-a-bration? Well, during January through March, Stampin’ Up! has a sale going on with it’s own little catalog. Every time you spend $50.00 on product from either the Annual Catalog or the Occasions Catalog, you get to choose an item from the Sale-a-bration Catalog for FREE! Who doesn’t love free? Here’s a look at the sample that we are casing today.
As you can see, I didn’t deviate much from the original sample, which is the fun part of casing a project. Not sure what casing means? It means Copy And Share Everything or CASE. 🙂 You can make the card exactly as it was created or you can put your own spin on it. Different stamp set, different color, different size card, it’s all up to you! I love that casing a card gives me inspiration when I’m in a mojo funk too. And that’s what our CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group is all about. We love it when you share your inspiration with us!
Back to my take on today’s card. Here are the measurements for it:
- Card base in Night of Navy cut at 11″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Pool Party layer cut at 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White layer cut at 5″ x 5″
Since Night of Navy is one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors, I stayed with that and also liked using a square card style. The idea behind this card is that it’s a quick and easy style, so I stayed with that concept too. I had seen this color combo from another demo and knew that was what I was going to use. I just love Night of Navy and Pool Party together, but then, I could pair Night of Navy with just about any color. 😉 I stamped the blooms in Pool Party and the sentiment in Night of Navy. Now when you stamp the blooms, be sure to try it on a scrap piece first. Since this image is to look like a sketch, there’s a lot of detail in it. Also, the stamp is more smooth then deeply etched, so it can be tricky to get a crisp stamped image. If you’re having problems, be sure to check your ink pad too. For some reason a really juicy pad can cause problems, so you may have to stamp off. After all was stamped you know I needed some bling, but I wanted to keep it somewhat subtle (if that’s even possible lol), so I grabbed the Glitter Enamel Dots. LOVE those things!! The variation in the blues is perfect for this color combo too. Here’s an upclose look at the blooms:
This gives you a great view of the glitter dots too. Isn’t that bloom a gorgeous image? And I love the font they chose for the sentiments. I would love to have a sentiment stamp set with it! What do you think? Now you need to create something and share it with us. We would love to have you come and play with us! Just head over here to see everyone’s take on today’s sample. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great Tuesday!
