Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! Today we are casing one of the Hostess Sets, the Tranquil Tulips featured on page 223 of the Annual Catalog. Here’s the picture of what we are casing today:
After so many months of Christmas and holiday stuff, it’s a nice break to create something that has a spring feeling to it. This hostess stamp set is a fun 2-step stamp set that has been very popular since the catalog went live back in June.
For my take on the card, I used the same stamp set, but changed the cardstock and colors up some. Here are the measurements on my card:
- Wisteria Wonder card base cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic Black cardstock cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
- DSP cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
I used a scrap piece of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and then adhered it to the Basic Black. I used the Lots of Labels Framelits like the example in the catalog, but I used the one just smaller then the one shown. I stamped the leaves and stems in Old Olive, and the little buds in Wisteria Wonder. For the Tulips I needed to stamp them on a scrap piece of Whisper White because I needed to cut them out, so I stamped them in Calypso Coral. I wanted the Calypso Coral to be really light, so I stamped off the back of the tulip 3 times and the front of the tulip only twice so that there was some contrast. Then when I was done stamping, I cut them out and added them with dimensionals. Since the example picture showed a Wink of Stella next to the card, I figured I better some to the tulips. I think it gives it a frosty effect. To tie in the black, I cut a piece of Basic Black with the same sized framelit as the Whisper White and then just offset it and adhered them together. I then added some dimensionals to the back and added it to the card front. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, which has been around forever and even longer then I’ve been a demonstrator!! lol I then punched it out with the Classic Label Punch, added some of the Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and then adhered it to the base of the stems. I added a double bow of black baker’s twine and some black rhinestones and called it done. I can’t believe the black rhinestones are retiring!! I LOVE them!!! So you can guess who is stocking up on them before they’re gone!!Ā š
