Hello and welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I have to say that when I saw what we were casing this week that I was VERY excited! We are casing the card at the bottom of page 42 of the Holiday Catalog. I absolutely LOVE the Painted Harvest stamp set and am very happy that it will not be retiring. Now…if we could talk Stampin’ Up! in to not retiring DSP, I’d really be a happy stamper!! lol The Painted Autumn DSP definitely was at the top of my list for the Holiday Catalog favorites. So let’s get back to my take on the card. I knew I wanted to work with something other then traditional sunflower colors so the piece of DSP I chose made my decision even easier. Here are the measurements on my card:
- Card base in Soft Sky, cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- DSP cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 5″ x 3 3/4″
I think one of the reasons I love this stamp set is because it’s a 2-step stamp set, meaning it takes 2-steps to complete the image. The sunflower is stamped in Lemon Lime Twist first, then in Soft Sky. The center is stamped in Garden Green. I also stamped the leaves in Garden Green, but I stamped off first. The little dots are stamped in Soft Sky. I then stamped the sentiment in Garden Green on a piece of Soft Sky and then cut it out with the label from the Rose Garden Thinlits. I really need to use this more since it is such a versatile shape. I wrapped a piece of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine around the middle of the Very Vanilla piece and tied it in a bow to the left. I then adhered it to the DSP piece and then added both to the card base. I added a couple of dimensionals to the back of the label, then added it over the twine. I knew it needed some bling, so of course I had to reach for my Glitter Enamel Dots. Isn’t it great that they come in so many colors? They go with EVERYTHING!!
Now it’s your turn. We want to see what you can create and share it on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. Here’s the card to use as your inspiration:
