Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time in my neck of the woods, welcome! And please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you had a chance to stop over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

Isn’t that a cute card? It’s funny, my husband used to be in a band called T.C. & the Hedgehogs and at that time it was hard to come by hedgehog stuff. The band broke up and now you see hedgehog stuff everywhere! 🙂  Oh well….guess that’s why I went a different route.

I needed to create a sympathy card and haven’t had a chance to use the gorgeous Flowering Fields DSP, so I chose the Timeless Tulips stamp set and coordinating Tulip Builder punch. I followed all of the measurements for my card, aside from sentiment layers. The In Color Shimmer Vellum measures 1 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ and the Fresh Freesia layer measures 1″ x 4 1/4″. The 1 1/2″ width was just too wide for my sentiment.

I started by choosing my piece of DSP and then my Just Jade card base. (This is one of the 2020-2022 In Colors that will be retiring very soon, so now is the time to stock up on your ink refills and other In Color items.) Since I love the colors in that piece of DSP, I chose a scrap of vellum for that layer that went over it so all that color could come through. I then trimmed a scrap of Basic White to the measurements and stamped the stem of the tulip in Just Jade ink. Next I then stamped two of the leaves in Just Jade ink and the tulip in Fresh Freesia ink and punched it all out with the punch. I then trimmed my shimmer vellum to measurements. I originally stamped the sentiment on this piece, but since it’s a sheer paper, the sentiment got lost in the pattern paper. So I added the strip of Fresh Freesia and stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink. I then assembled the card. I added all of the layers with Stampin’ Seal adhesive and the tulip pieces with dimensionals. And lastly, I added two of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels in Fresh Freesia.

Then for the inside, I had a scrap of Basic White that measures 3 3/4″ x 5″, so I added a 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of the DSP to the top and stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink.

And don’t forget about your envelope! I stamped the smaller tulip in Fresh Freesia ink on the flap.

Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and then share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create it exactly as is, or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing, you get to make it your way!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great rest of your Tuesday!
