Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for another week. This week’s Product of the Week is those fabulous Stampin’ Blends Markers and what better way to showcase them then with coloring that adorable wishing well!

Here are the measurements of my card:

  • Card base in Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ and 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
  • Pool Party cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″

I have had the Bright Wishes stamp set for quite awhile, but had never used it. I stamped the image in Memento ink and just started coloring. Now I am not an expert or a true artist, but these alcohol markers make you feel like one. I started with the grass and the flowers, with Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Call Me Clover, Flirty Flamingo combo markers, Light Pineapple Punch and two colors that will be available with the Holiday Catalog, Real Red and Gorgeous Grape. Next I colored the frame of the well with Soft Suede, also due out in September, and Bronze for the roof. I used the Light Crumb Cake for the rope and the Light Smokey Slate for the pail and turn handle. The bricks were a little tricky. I started with the Crumb Cake combos and didn’t like it, so I added some Smokey Slate. Still not happy, I added some Light Calypso Coral, thinking that would help bring in the red I was after. Still wasn’t happy, I brought out the Cajun Craze combo, also due out in September. It’s not perfect, but then that was okay with me. Next I used the Light Pool Party for the sky. Then I added some Wink of Stella on the flowers and leaves. At that point I liked the results. Next I cut out the largest framelit from the Stitched Seasons Framelits set on my Pool Party layer.  Remember, those framelits are only available until August 31st and you do not want to miss them. I adhered the well to the card base and then added the Pool Party layer. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of Whisper White and added it to the card front with dimensionals. Next I added some rhinestones and called it done. I don’t know about you, but coloring is some of the best therapy there is!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. If you want to start your collection of markers, just head over to my online store. When you use Hostess Code QQ3DCGDJ and I will send you a pack of handmade cards.
