Hey everyone! How was your Thursday, or as the commercial says, “little Friday”? I wanted to share a card I created using one of the second Sale-a-bration release items, the Blossoming Basket Bundle, which is a level 2 item. The stamp set is adorable and perfect for spring, as is the embossing folder. Here are the measurements of my card:
- Card base in Melon Mambo cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Melon Mambo layer cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″, embossed with the Basket Weave Folder
- Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper cut at 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
First I adhered the embossed piece of cardstock to the card base, then I stamped the basket in Basic Black Archival Ink, then colored it with my Blender Pen. I used Powder Pink for the basket, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Lemon Lime Twist inks. I sponged some Melon Mambo on the edges, then layered it on the glimmer paper with Mini Glue Dots. I had some Whisper White Baker’s Twine left over from Saturday’s card class, so I tied a double bow with some and added it to the basket with a Mini Glue Dot. I then stamped the little butterfly on a scrap piece of vellum, heat set it with the heat gun, fussy cut it out and also adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot. I then added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and the butterfly for some shimmer. Here’s a close up of the basket:
I thought it turned out so cute! I think the twine really brings it to life. Once that was set, I added some dimensionals and adhered it to the card front. Then I stamped the sentiment on a strip of Whisper White, flagged the ends and adhered it with dimensionals. This is the perfect card for Easter, a shower, or even a beautiful Mother’s Day Card.
