Hey everyone! Welcome to another week. For those that have been affected by Hurricane Irma and Harvey, our thoughts and prayers are with you. I know it’s been a rough couple of weeks back east, but I know the Lord hears our prayers. No matter how bad things get, He’s always there to help us get through it.
I participate in a card swap with some other demonstrators for every new catalog and I just received the cards from the Holiday Catalog swap on Saturday. All I can say is WOW!! Check all these gorgeous cards!! I love all the different styles from all the demos that participated.
I’ve got inspiration for days to work with for the next few months!! It’s always so exciting to get these in the mail, just like Christmas!! So here are the measurements on my card:
- Bermuda Bay Card base – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2″ scored @ 4 1/4″
- Crumb Cake layer – 3 1/4 x 4 1/4″
- Whisper White layer – 3 x 4″
- Whisper White sentiment strip – 1/2 x 3″ end flagged
I love the technique of stamping an image and then running it through an embossing folder, and I thought that the Pinewood Planks folder was a perfect match for this beachy card. I stamped the tree in Bermuda Bay ink and then ran it through the Big Shot. Then I layered it to the Crumb Cake layer and then to the card base. I stamped the shell on a scrap piece of Whisper White in Crumb Cake ink and cut it out. This is when those really sharp Paper Snips come in handy. It only takes a minute to cut the shell out. I added that with a Mini Dimensional. I cut a piece of Linen Thread and created a double bow added it to the tree with a Mini Glue Dot and then added the rhinestone to the top of the tree to give the star fish some bling. Then I stamped the sentiment on the strip in Crumb Cake, flagged the ends and added it to the card. Didn’t it turn out cute?!? I love the whole beachy theme!!
