Hey everyone! Happy Friday! I wanted to share another look at that cute stamp set, Happy Beach. I actually had planned this for yesterday, but….life got in the way. As you know, we have our house on the market and had realtors come in, plus my husband’s truck broke down…it was a mess! So here we are on Friday!! 🙂 The measurements for today’s card are:
- Card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Gingham Gala DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/2″
- Whisper White cardstock cut with the largest stitched circle
- Coastal Cabana cardstock cut with the largest scalloped circle
I know you’re going to be shocked…this card is created from all scraps!! Woo hoo!! You must wonder how many scraps this poor woman has…A LOT! lol So, I grabbed a scrap of Whisper White and stamped the image in Tuxedo Black ink. My first thought was to color the image with my Stampin’ Blends, but I chose to use the two step stamps for the images instead. I used Coastal Cabana ink for the umbrella and Granny Apple Green ink for the stripes in the chair. Since this is a photopolymer stamp set and you see right through it, it’s easy to stamp the second image over the first. Next I grabbed my Blends markers and colored the scenery. I used the Ivory for the sand, Dark Balmy Blue for the water and light Balmy Blue for the sky. I did color several layers on the water and then I added some Wink of Stella. After I got my shading down, I cut it out with the framelit and adhered to the scalloped circle. Next I took the scrap of DSP and stamped the sentiment in the lower right hand corner in Tuxedo Black. I tied a piece of the Coastal Cabana/Granny Apple Green Reversible Ribbon and tied it around in a bow. This ribbon ties beautifully!!! I adhered it down and added the circles with dimensionals and called it done. Here’s a look at the images:
I think the coloring turned out okay since I do not think of myself as any expert with the Blends at all! I just enjoy coloring with them. I hope you like today’s card and if you would like to order any of these items, just head over to my online store. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a fantastic Friday!
