Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I hope all is well in your world and that you had a good weekend. We had a birthday in our family this past weekend, and while we couldn’t be there to celebrate under the current circumstances, I was able to make him a birthday card and drop it off. It was for my son-in-law, who is a huge Star Wars fan.
Since Stampin’ Up! doesn’t have any Star Wars stamps and my punch art imagination just couldn’t handle all that thinking this weekend, I turned to my Cricut. I purchased this image and and printed it off with my computer. Oh the joy of technology!! Here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 10″ x 7″, scored at 5″
- Basic Black cardstock cut at 4 3/4″ x 6 1/2″ and 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ for the inside
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 1/2″ x 6 1/4″ and 4″ x 6″ for the inside
Isn’t he adorable?!? The image actually comes with the sentiment “May the Force Be With You” below Yoda, but it was too large for the front of my card. I trimmed it off and then colored him with my Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. I used the Old Olive Combo for his face and hands, Crumb Cake combo for his robe, Daffodil Delight combo for the star and the Bronze for his walking stick. After I colored him, I glued him to the Basic Black mat. For the background on the card base I used the dirt image stamp from this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit and randomly stamped it around in Crumb Cake ink. I guess since I used that stamp this is a Paper Pumpkin alternate!! lol After I stamped the background, I glued the Yoda layers down. I printed out the sentiment for the front and the inside with my computer and used the smallest die from the Stitched So Sweetly set to cut out the front sentiment. I added it to the card front with some black dimensionals.
For the inside I trimmed down the sentiment layer, glued it to the Basic Black layer and added it to the inside. I really, really like how this turned out!! What do you think?!? Isn’t it great that our supplies can be used for anything?!? If you would like to order any of these items, except for Yoda of course, just head over to my online store. Thank you so much for stopping by and please be sure to stop by again tomorrow for another CASE=ing Tuesday project. Have a great Monday!
