Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. Today we played with the August Paper Pumpkin Kit called World’s Greatest on my Facebook Live. Were you able to watch me live? If not, you can watch the replay here and just a bit of a warning….I was a hot mess!!! lol If you watched it on my YouTube Channel, please be sure to subscribe to my channel and like and share my videos.

Here are the measurements for the first card:

  • Whisper White card base from the kit cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Bumble Bee cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Pacific Point plaid card base from the kit cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″ (save the 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ strip)
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″

After I trimmed the plaid card base, I layered it on a scrap of Bumble Bee cardstock. I added some of the Stampin’ Seal adhesive across the back of the layers and added a piece of that gorgeous grosgrain ribbon from the kit and then glued them both to the Whisper White card base. I took one of the washed layers and stamped it. I masked one of the stamps from the kit and stamped the word Best in Pacific Point ink, which is the ink spot in the kit. I stamped the word friend underneath it and set it aside. I took two of the vellum leaf die cuts and sponged the back of them with Pacific Point ink. By inking the back side, it won’t smear when you handle the card after they’ve been adhered to the card. I then added that to the card front with dimensionals. Then I took some of the stars from the kit that are included for the shaker cards and added them to the front with some of the Mini Glue Dots in the kit.

For the inside I took the Whisper White layer and sponged the edges with Pacific Point. I added the left over strip to the top and then some of the stars with Mini Glue Dots. I stamped the sentiment on the layer and then glued it to the inside of the card.

The second alternate is also using supplies from the kit, but I made it into a fun fold.

  • Mint Macaron plaid card base from kit cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″, trim off 2″ for the card front
  • Pacific Point plaid card base cut from at 1/2″ x 5 1/2″

This card came together rather quickly. After I cut off the 2″ strip from the card front, I glued right to the inside of the card. Next I took a strip that was leftover after creating card one and glued it right at the inside edge of the plaid layer that was glued down. I took one of the Mint Macaron washed layers and stamped the sentiment at the bottom in the Pacific Point ink. Next I stamped the ribbon on a scrap of Whisper White and cut it out with one of the scalloped circles from the Layering Circle Dies. Then I cut the center of the image out with the next smallest circle to create a wreath type shape. I then took that same small circle and the next one up and cut a thin circle out of our new Foam Adhesive Sheets to create the shaker frame and add the adhesive foam to the top of the washed layer. I took one of the window sheets from the kit and cut a circle out the same size as the foam. I added some of the stars to the inside of the foam circle, removed the top adhesive back and secured the window sheet circle on top. I added some of the Mini Glue Dots on the back side of my wreath and glued it to the top of the window sheet. I added adhesive to the back of the right side of the washed layer and adhered it to the card front to create the opening.

For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays in Pacific Point, but it was crooked. Don’t you hate when you do that?!? So to cover it up, I took that inside part of the wreath that was cut out and stamped the sentiment again and glued it to one of the foil scalloped circles in the kit and then glued it to the inside of the card. I added two of the stars with Mini Glue Dots and called it done. I thought my fix was pretty good, what do you think?!?

This may not have been on of my favorite kits, but that’s a good thing. It really pushes me to create something I like from a kit that I don’t like and then share it with you! I hope you like my alternates as well as I do. I am excited for the September kit as it starts off the holiday season with a bang!
