Hello again! Are you ready for some inky fun with the August Paper Pumpkin kit? Since blue is my favorite color, you know that I am loving this kit! Let’s look at the scrapbook layout first.
Here are the measurements:
- Full of Life DSP – 2 @ 1″ x 6″, 2 @ 1/2″ x 6″, 3/4″ x 3 1/2″, 1″ x 4″, 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
- Gardem Green cardstock – 2 @ 1/4″ x 12″ and 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ for photo mounts
- Daffodil Delight cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 6 1/2″
- Balmy Blue cardstock – 4 1/2″ x 6 3/4″
I have been wanting to scrap these photos for awhile, and while they don’t go with the colors in the kit, they did go with the Full of Life DSP that is on sale. That picture of Charlie photo bombing my youngest daughter just had me rolling! lol He is such a ham!!! I used another sketch from the Make It From the Heart Vol 6 sketch book that I purchased on clearance when Close to My Heart went out of business. I LOVE their sketches, plus I absolutely love using sketches for scrapbooking; it really helps get things started. The sketch I used is Pattern 2 in the book. Since the Full of Life DSP pack is 6″ x 6″, I knew there would be seams when I attached them to the base. For the bottom, I created candles and attached one right on the seam. The seam at the top wasn’t really noticeable, so I left it alone. I used one of the banners from the kit for the sub-title and another stamp at the top for my title. I used the retired balloon punch to create my balloons and a white gel pen to create the shine mark. I also used two of the tags from the kit for some journaling. I really like tucking my journaling behind photos. I was able to use the second stamp set from the kit for one of the tags so that we remember which birthday this was for her. The sequins are from Zinnia Online Exclusives product, the Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins.
Isn’t that a fun layout? I think all of the colors from the DSP are perfect for birthdays! Now let’s look at my first alternate card:
Here are the measurements:
- Night of Navy card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic White cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ for the inside
- Kit card base – front and back trimmed to 3 3/4″ x 5″
The first two alternates follow the basic instructions from the kit. The ink spot in the kit is in Night of Navy, which is what I used for the cards. Layers are attached with Stampin’ Seal, the Hooray is a sticker from the kit and the sentiment strip and fork are added with the mini dimensionals from the kit. I did add some of the 2024/2026 In Color Shimmer Gems in Peach Pie for extra bling. How about that Rose Gold Trim bow? That’s included in the kit!! (And yes, I forgot to add the fork in the video, but I did add it afterwards. oops!)
For the inside I simply added the back of the card and my stamped Basic White layer. I love how it brings the outside of the card inside without any extra effort plus I can use one of the envelopes from the kit. Super easy!
Now on to the second alternate, which is a gift card holder:
Here are the measurements:
- Night of Navy card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
- Kit card base – 4″ x 5 1/4 and 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside
- Basic White cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside
The balloon layer is actually printed and if it’s not busy enough as it is, you stamp 4 more balloons on it, which I did, 2 first generation ink and 2 in second generation ink. I attached the layers with Stampin’ Seal and then added the 3 die cut balloons with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment on the banner and attached it with dimensionals on each end and a mini glue dot in the middle to secure it to the balloons. There’s a bow in that the Rose Gold Trim on the end of the large baloon and I added more in the In Color gmes in Pretty in Pink. The balloons have that Rose Gold foiling in pattern too.
To create the gift card holder, I punched a thumb notch in the center of the strip and added it to my inside layer, stamped the sentiment and a balloon, then attached it to the inside.
Now let’s look at the final card which is completely different then the one in the instructions:
Here are the measurements:
- Thick Basic White card base – 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Misty Moonlight cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Kit card base – 3 3/4″ x 5″
So while I love an interactive card, this one was not my favorite….so I changed it! lol The layers on the front are attached with Stampin Seal and the label, which is die cut from the Nested Essentials die is added with diemensionals after I stamped it. The curved sentiment is perfect for this! I stamped the little candle die cuts and added them to the label with mini dimensionals and then added 3 of the Shiny Sequins for bling.
I took the interactive layer, which is folded in a mountain/valley fold and added it to the inside. I first stamped the sentiment on the last layer, folded it at the score lines, added adhesive to the back and attached it to the inside of the card. I added adhesive to the top of the fold and closed my card to attach the layers. If I’ve lost you, you can watch the replay of the video here.
Isn’t that a fun card? I really like how all them turned out. I think making alternate projects of the kits is the best part! And when I can use them for scrapbook layouts, even better! Here’s little sneak peek of the September kit:
