Happy Thursday everyone! I hope your week is going well. if this is your first time stopping by my little corner of the world, please be sure to join my email list here. Today we are playing with the April 2023 Paper Pumpkin. Were you able to watch my Facebook Live this morning? If no, you can watch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here. I have to say that at first, I wasn’t a huge fan of this kit, but as always, the minute I start playing with it I fall in love with it!
I think one of the things I love the most about this kit, is the color palette! Let’s look at the scrapbook layout first.
Here are the measurements of my layout:
- Base in Early Espresso cardstock – 12″ x 12″
- Petal Pink cardstock – 9 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and 2 1/2″ x 8″
- Very Vanilla cardstock – 9 1/4″ x 9 1/4″
I love how the colors go so well my the picture of my sweet girl Chloe. The 2 1/2″ layer of Petal Pink cardstock was one of the pieces trimmed from the 12″ x 12″ layer. I used the circle from the kit and layered it on a 1 3/4″ circle of Early Espresso cardstock. The sentiment stamped on the circle is from the kit and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Very Best Occasions stamp set, both stamped in Early Espresso ink. I added some of the Calypso Coral twine to the back of the circle before adding it to the layout. I used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker for my journaling. Let’s look at card one of my alternates.
Here are the measurements:
- Card base in Shaded Spruce cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Balmy Blue cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic White layer for the inside cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
I layered the Balmy Blue layer fits perfectly under the die cut layer from the kit and is attached with Mini Glue Dots. I then added it to the card front with dimensionals. Next I took the flower die layer, which comes in Calypso Coral, and blended on some Granny Apple Green ink on the backside of the die cut. I stamped the sentiment from the kit in Shaded Spruce ink (the color of the ink spot in the kit) on the label from the kit and attached it to the flower label with a bit of Stampin’ Seal. I then added some more Seal to the back and added some of the black twine from the kit and attached it to the card front with dimensionals. I colored two of the Iridescent Rhinestones from the kit with my Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends Marker and added them to the label.
For the inside, I just stamped the image from the set in Shaded Spruce, stamping off first.
And since the envelopes in the kit are in Balmy Blue, I didn’t need to add one. Let’s look at the second card.
Here are the measurements:
- Card base in Calypso Coral cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Card base from kit, front cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the back cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Petal Pink cardstock die cut with Scalloped Contour Die
- Basic White cardstock cut at 1 7/8″ x 3 1/4″
I love the gradient look to the card base from the kit. I added it to the card base with Stampin’ Seal. Next I die cut a scrap of Petal Pink and wrapped the twine around it and tied it in a bow. I stamped the image from the Color and Contour stamp set on the white layer in Petal Pink ink, stamping off first, and then stamped the sentiment over the image. I added that layer to the scalloped rectangle with dimensionals and then both to the card front with dimensionals. Then I added a couple of the rhinestones from the kit.
For the inside, I stamped the flower image again in Petal Pink, stamping off first, and attached it to the inside. I left it bland so that I can add a sentiment later or just write a longer note on the layer.
And for the envelope, I stamped the same image in Calypso Coral on the front.
