Hello! Happy Wednesday!! Today is a very special day in our household. Well, actually, January is always special for us as we have several birthdays in the family, but today’s birthday is the love-of-my-life. He wanted to keep it low key….yeah right! 🙂 You didn’t think I would pass that up, did you?!? I even stepped outside my comfort zone and created a square card!! Here are the measurements:
- Card base in Bermuda Bay cardstock, cut at 5 1/2″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Picture Perfect Party DSP layer cut at 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ (inside layer)
Super simple card today, which with everything going on around here is a good thing. Cut the cardstock, fold in half, add the DSP layer and then stamp the sentiment from the Five 4 All stamp set from the Annual Catalog. It’s one of those sets that has gotten forgotten with the release of the Holiday and Occasions Catalogs, but it has some really cute birthday sentiments. For the inside layer I stamped the sentiment in black ink, then took the candle stamps from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set from the new Occasions Catalog and stamped in Bermuda Bay. It’s a 2-step stamp for the candle, so I stamped off for the solid piece, then stamped directly for the stripes. The flame is in Daffodil Delight and I added some Wink of Stella for shimmer. Then I stamped the Happy Birthday and voila! Done. Took all of maybe 7 minutes, including cutting time! Clean, simple, and quick! Doesn’t get much better then that!
