Isn’t that a cute card? I decided to use product from the 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar this week. I had ordered it back when it first came out and opened it all to share with the attendees at my Creative Escape Retreat earlier this month. If you haven’t heard or seen anything about this box, you can check it all out here. Yes, it does have a higher price point, but it is sooooo worth it!! The 12 products in the kit are absolutely stunning and are exclusive to the kit. It really is worth every penny for it! The outside of the box shows a Christmas theme, but the products inside can be used year round.
When you order this calendar, you get a stamp set that includes two sheets, one of sentiments and one of images. The other products have that coordination that Stampin’ Up! is so known for and make crafting so fun and easy! Let’s look at my card:
I started with a Misty Moonlight. The kit comes with an exclusive pack of Designer Series Paper that are one sided so you don’t have to choose a side – I love that!! I trimmed the more subtle pink piece for the bottom layer and trimmed one of the patterns to the measurements for my banners. Next I used a retired 2 1/2″ circle punch and punched my circle from one of the subtle patterns. I stamped my sentiment from the set in Night of Navy ink and added it to the card base with dimensionals. I tied a bow in the blue and white twine (the kit comes with blue and white and pink and white rolls of twine) and added it with a Mini Glue Dot. Then I die cut the little butterfly with one of the dies that is in the kit and added it with another Mini Glue Dot. Next I sprinkled on some fo the gold sparkly dot embellishments from the kit. They are loose embellisments, so I added them with more Mini Glue Dots.
For the inside, I stamped my butterfly in second generation Pretty in Pink and the body in Night of Navy and the sentiment in Night of Navy on a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock. I trimmed a strip of the DPS to 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and added it at the bottom before adding the layer to the inside of the card.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I had another leftover strip of the DSP after creating my banners, so I added it to the front of the envelope.
